How to Get the Peak Performance You Crave in the Bedroom

3 minutes to read

As we get a little grayer at the temples and a lot creakier in the knees, we start to realize how much we took for granted that we'd always feel 25. Perhaps this is most evident in the bedroom, where the kind of aerobics we once enjoyed would, nowadays, throw out our backs or cause a hernia.

While there's nothing you can do to slow down or reverse the hands of the clock, there's plenty you can do to improve your prowess in bed, no matter your age or what kind of shape you're in.

Here are six things you can try tonight to experience peak performance in the sack.

1. Put the focus on foreplay

Foreplay is often under-valued and under-utilized. But if you pay more attention to foreplay and forget about what comes after, what comes after is likely to be more explosive for both of you.

Rather than focusing on the frequency of sex, emphasize the sheer quality of it. Take your time leading up to intercourse, and start as early in the day as you want. Experiment with lots of different foreplay activities, and luxuriate in the experiences to make them last.

2. Try something new

It's inevitable that some couples who have been together for a long time get into a rut when it comes to lovemaking. Sex can become a rote habit, and it can be tough to break out of the mold and try something different.

The more you exercise that mental muscle, the easier it becomes to shake it up, and the more pleasure you and your partner can enjoy from sex. Try a new position, or get it on in a new location, like the dining room or a local motel. Have phone sex from different rooms, or experiment with some light or heavy role-playing. Now is a good time to talk about your fantasies and bring them to life.

3. Reduce your stress and anxiety

If you live with chronic stress or anxiety, it can be hard to relax and give your all between the sheets. Before your nighttime festivities begin, find some time to relax alone and do some deep breathing exercises. Deep breathing reduces levels of stress hormones in the body, and it increases oxygen circulation, which can improve your erections.

In the longer term, address the things that cause negative emotions in your life. Engage in daily meditation, which reduces stress and even improves the way your body responds to future stressors.

4. Put out your cigarette--for good

Nothing is going to put a damper on your sex life like smoking cigarettes, which cause lung, heart disease, and erectile dysfunction. Research shows that quitting smoking improves sexual function, and it will improve your physical performance as well. You'll be able to breathe better, and you'll look and smell better, too.

5. Exercise

Physical activity not only extends your life and improves your health, but it also gives you more energy, stamina, and flexibility in bed. Exercise keeps your nerves healthy so that you can fully feel the sensations of sex, and it improves blood flow to help improve the quality of your erections. Exercise helps you lose weight, which can improve your confidence and self-esteem and lead to better, more pleasurable sex.

6. Take a supplement

A simple daily supplement can inject energy and vitality into your sex life by providing your body with the nutrients it needs for optimal performance. Prostavol Enhance contains research-backed ingredients that improve blood flow and oxygen in the body, increases testosterone levels, promote peak energy and endurance, and contribute to harder, longer-lasting erections.

Waning youth doesn't have to mean a waning sex life. A little self-care goes a long way toward peak performance, and a more mindful approach to sex can ramp up the heat between you and your partner and make you feel 25 again.
